About Melissa Sleight

I am a direct care worker, as well as a weekend supervisor, for Progressive Lifestyles, Inc. This is a non-profit corporation that supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the communities they live in. We support a culture of gentleness, meaning we support the development of strong meaningful relationships between individuals, as well as meet individuals needs in a dignified and humane manner. All individuals that we support are given as much control over their lives as possible, on both a daily basis and in matters of more long-term significance. I am passionate about my job and am always willing to connect with other caregivers, whether they are in the mental health field, or just the health field in general. To me, the most important and enjoyable part of my job is the lasting relationships I have built, and will continue to develop, with the individuals I work with. I also enjoy watching and helping them overcome the hurdles and obstacles placed in their lives to grow into more healthy and self-sufficient human beings. I will obtain my AS in Health Administration Services in February 2015 from Colorado Technical University online.
