About Melissa Softley

My name is Melissa Softley. After a long time going being encouraged to do it; I finally made a Linkedin Profile! I have been in the security field for well over eight (8) years. I started as a guard with Backstage Support Services (Now XA) in June of 2012 where I quickly worked my way up to the role of Security Supervisor. I was responsible for running a team of guards at both events and concerts. I currently work casual part time as a Park Patrol Agent and Dispatcher with the Calgary Stampede. I have a strong customer service background. I am skilled with CCTV operation and investigation. I work very well with children in distressing situations and can keep them calm while the situation is resolved. I have experience developing and teaching in-house seminars on emergency response procedures. I had the opportunity to teach safety and safety procedures at a multinational conference for teachers and educators. I also helped them with methods of delivery for their students in the classroom. I also have a great deal of practical experience with the Use of Force spectrum to deal with many different and dynamic situations. I hope to eventually become a teacher, and plan to continue with my online post secondary studies in the coming years. I am currently focused on building as many transferable skills as possible. I look forward to taking on new challenges and tackling them head on.
