About Melissa Strother

I am a coach and former professional football player. I’m also a Certified Athletic Trainer and Certified Performance Enhancement Specialist, with a master’s degree in sports performance training. I started coaching in 2019 as an Offensive Assistant Coordinator, ST coordinator and WR/QB coach at the high school level. In 2021 I began coaching/scouting at Free Agent and UFL Showcases with the industry’s elite John Carney and then ANC. I have also been with the Los Angeles Rams since 2023 as a YEC specializing in coaching WRs and kickers at camps and combines throughout Southern California. In 2025 I was the first female coordinator in men‘s professional football coaching ST/linebackers for the Washington Wolfpack. I have over 20 years of experience in leadership positions. I am extremely organized, thrive under pressure, and have the utmost integrity and accountability in demanding situations. I played 15 seasons in tackle football, including playing Men's Professional Football as well as playing for the USA Women’s National Team. In 2024 I was the Washington Wolfpack Special Teams Player of the Year and lead the league with the longest field goal on the season. In my 15 seasons of football as a WR/FS/K/P I have been a 9x all-star, 11x team captain, WFA National Champion, and IFAF World Champion. My career was never built on talent, it was hard work, detail-oriented focus, and a constant state of learning for self-improvement. I believe the best path to get the optimum potential from your athletes is to be the example in what you do, what you say and how you say it. Mindset designs your path; effort, focus, and discipline build it.
