About Melissa Suster

As a member of Toyota’s Legal Leadership team, Melissa serves as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel for Labor & Employment, overseeing all labor and employment legal matters for Toyota team members across all company functions, including manufacturing, sales, distribution, and research and development. In addition to day-to-day employment advice and counsel, she leads a team that provides strategic guidance on complex issues involving internal investigations, immigration and employee mobility, union negotiations, employee benefits, and litigation and dispute resolution. Melissa’s practical, solutions-oriented approach is deeply rooted in Toyota’s core values of respect for people and continuous improvement. Before joining Toyota in October 2024, Melissa spent 15 years at AT & T, where she held a variety of in-house legal roles supporting human resources, labor relations, wholesale telecommunications, and business product sales and marketing teams.
