About Melissa Trouerbach

Passionate about education, sports and food. Montessori: I combine my passion for education and food in my job at the Montessori College Aerdenhout. Not only do I teach teenagers English and train teacher trainees of English. I also train students how to guide other students in the peer leader / peer tutor program and coordinate the healthy school canteen. Since 2023 I have also become one of the montessori coordinators at our school. AJAX: Growing up in the world of badminton and having been a player of the Dutch national team, I experienced what it was like to keep focus on both sport and school. In my role as a remedial teacher at AFC AJAX, I am able to share my experience and guide youth players throughout their educational and professional football journey. Spekkoek & Kenya: In december 2021 I worked on making a low carb and sugar-free spekkoek for a friend with diabetes. By now I also make gluten, lactose- and sugar-free spekkoek. Sharing this story on my social media started an unexpected sugar-free spekkoek adventure. The money that I make, selling my spekkoek is donated to a girls school in Kenya, St. Elizabeth Lureko school in Mumias. The project has now become part of the Montessori College Aerdenhout. We raise money for better educational material in Kenya. This is why you will also see spekkoek & Kenya stories on my LinkedIn. More can be found on my Instagram @m1ss_mel1ss and TikTok @miss_meliss78 Thanks for connecting.
