About Melody Watson

I'm a research ethics officer, editor, game designer and writer with a sunny disposition, a love of communicating, and extensive experience working with committees. My experience working at the University of Adelaide and the Adelaide University Union as a teacher, researcher, administrator, and community-builder have equipped me with a deep knowledge of the tertiary sector and a diverse set of skills. As a research ethics officer, I have a strong foundation in compliance and review processes and an eye for quality that is supplemented by an editor's attention to detail. In various roles, I've excelled in high-level committee work, program review and development, workshop facilitation, relationship-building, and community management. All of these support my passion for high-quality, innovative teaching and research, experience design, and constant improvement. Outside of the office, I specialise in providing professional, industry-savvy copyediting for role-playing games: think Dungeons and Dragons, but more interesting! I've worked on a number of projects, including Lancer, the mecha RPG, and have written some games of my own along the way. This background brings a creative (though professional) flair to all of my work and drives me to find joy in collaboration and detail. While my recent experience is in human research ethics and editing, I'm always open to being challenged and surprised-so please feel free to reach out!
