About Mendel Groner

Over the past two years, I have served as the tech lead at Vanguard Parking, a fast-paced startup at the forefront of the digital parking revolution. Starting as a solo developer in an unconventional environment and evolving into the architect and coordinator of multiple teams, I have played a key role in enabling the company to scale its revenue by approximately counting. During this time, I have honed technical expertise in programming, software architecture, and system design, alongside the essential soft skills needed to plan, delegate, and manage complex software projects. Prior to Vanguard Parking, I worked as a full-stack web developer at Spotlight Design, a highly reputable branding agency. There, I focused on front-end features while mastering the principles of web design and UI/UX best practices. I collaborated directly with clients to understand their needs and deliver effective solutions. My projects ranged from building data-intensive modern applications to developing custom WordPress themes and even maintaining ASP Classic sites. Most importantly, I had the privilege of working alongside a talented and inspiring team. My education has been self-driven. I am a self-taught software developer who briefly studied Liberal Arts at 19 before deciding to drop out and travel the world. Returning home at 21, I enrolled in Brooklyn College to pursue a degree in Computer Science during the COVID-19 pandemic. While I found value in the virtual classes, I quickly realized that my pace of learning outstripped the curriculum. Since then, I’ve continued to study and grow independently, building the skills and experience that have shaped my career.
