About Meng Wang
Graduated from Beijing Dance Academy majored in Chinese Dance Performance, currently, Meng Wang is a second-year graduate student in Arts Administration program at Boston University. Ten years professional training in dance has equipped Meng with systematic and solid knowledge of dancing technique, choreography, dancing pedagogy and developed her aesthetic sensibilities in a profound way. She aspires to improve herself in Arts Administration programs to connect what she had learned with administrative skills. During previous experiences, Meng has participated in many large-scale performances and dance drama, including the solo performer in the Opening Ceremonies of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, dance drama The Yellow River and Shangri-La as well as lots of performances held in the National Grand Theater of China. She also taught at many Chinese dance training club and universities and interned at TAO Dance Theater as Administrative Assistant. These invaluable experiences exposed her to art management and influenced her to pursue arts administration. After arriving in the U.S, she was invited to Chinese dance groups and academies to teach, which largely enhanced her communication skills and immersed her in the local arts environment. With the strong passion and love for the art, Meng Wang wants to explore various types of arts organizations. She expects to utilize the arts administration skills and assimilate the diversified civilization of the U.S, so as to convey the cultural traditions and artistic styles of different performing arts the public.
