About Menra Mapfumo

I am a senior at Clark Atlanta University. I am a mass media arts major with a concentration in radio, tv, and film. I am proficient in using all technologies to enhance support for journalism and digital media. Positive and upbeat communicator with good planning abilities. Enthusiastic and eager to contribute to team success through hard work, attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. I was a Chevrolet Discover the Unexpected Fellow under General Motors Company and the National Newspapers Publisher's Association. From the fellowship I became a freelancer multimedia reporter for the Atlanta Voice, a Black Newspaper in Atlanta, GA. I am currently with the Atlanta Voice covering events in the Atlanta area and I specifically cover events in the Atlanta University Center and sporting events. For example, I have cover Clark Atlanta University football, volleyball and basketball. Plus, I covered multiple events in Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves. Along with being a reporter for the Atlanta Voice, I am an intern for WCLK Radio Personality, Morris Baxter, on my campus. With him I create graphics for his show 'Morris Motivation.' Also on my campus I work the the CAU TV Broadcast group. Here, I create graphics, motion graphics, edit footage of CAU TV productions, operate cameras and utility on productions, and create news package for the CAU TV station. In these positions I utilize Adobe photoshop, premiere pro, and after affects, software I am very proficient in. On top of all those things, I am a student-athlete. I play baseball for CAU and I have acquired many leadership skills from my experience.
