Background

About Meraflor Ranalan

Teaching is my passion. I have been teaching for almost 20 years wherein I do have 15 years as a Secondary School Teacher up to the present while I did have almost five years of teaching experience from various levels such as Preschool, Elementary and College as well. Moreover, I am also generous enough in sharing my talent and skills with fellow teachers through coaching and mentoring. I am also fond of reading and researching so that I could write various forms such as journal articles, action research proposals, action research as a full-blown one and I love to mentor teachers and students on research because aside from teaching English, I am also has become a Research Teacher in the Senior High School for five years now after having taught in the Junior High School for ten years. I am open as well to become an executive assistant, program manager, content writer, content editor and freelance writer. Moreover, being a Secondary School Teacher II in the Department of Education, I also have various experiences especially in dealing with our stakeholders in a friendly manner so that the carrying out of DepED's special programs would always become successful. Consequently, our management skills are being cultivated and developed. Thus, I could honestly say that I am blessed enough because I have been exposed to lead as I was appointed to become Reading Coordinator, Summer Reading Camp Coordinator, Documentation Team Coordinator, SBM Coordinator, Campus Journalism Coordinator and Assistant DORP Coordinator in my previous station. Then, for school year 2021-2022, I am being appointed as Senior High School Coordinator, Senior High School Research Coordinator, and Senior High School Campus Journalism Coordinator. All of the aforesaid coordinatorships have taught me how to work with a team and led my fellow teachers unleash their potentials as they collaborated with me and others towards success. Furthermore, I am also being immersed into the context of coaching activities for my students to win in Campus Journalism competitions - Secondary English category like Radio Broadcasting, TV Newscasting and Feature Writing. Additionally, as a Research Teacher of all my Grade 12 students in their three subjects like Practical Research 2, Inquiries, Investigation and Immersion and Research Capstone, I have developed a coaching strategy whether one-on-one or by small groups so that I was able to lead my former students and is leading my present students to experience success in crafting their own respective researches.
