About Merav Gur

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice in midtown Manhattan and a clinical supervisor at CUNY graduate center's wellness center. I am a former assistant professor at Columbia University Medical Center, adjunct faculty and clinical supervisor at the clinical psychology program at Teachers College, Columbia University. I work in my practice with individual patients (adults and older adolescents) who suffer from anxiety, panic, social anxiety, trauma, bereavement, and depression. I also work with issues related to fertility, perinatal issues including post-partum depression and anxiety, and adjustment to parenting. More generally, I provide psychotherapy to individuals who are dissatisfied with their interpersonal relationships or with their career and who aspire to lead a more meaningful life. I am fluent in English and Hebrew. Specialties: I believe successful treatments are based on a warm, supportive and non-judgmental therapeutic environment, in which the client can comfortably explore. I tailor my approach to each individual's needs and goals, and work collaboratively with each client. I am trained in several different treatment modalities, including insight oriented psychotherapy (psychodynamic psychotherapy), CBT (including mindfulness based, ACT), and IPT.
