About Meredith Duncan

Specialties: Healthcare compliance and litigation with a subspecialty in post acute, long term care and senior housing. In my practice, I represent a variety of providers including assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities, intermediate care facilities for the developmentally and/or mentally disabled (ICF/DD and ICF/MR), skilled pediatric facilities, therapy companies, home health providers, and non-emergency transportation providers. For these providers, I offer counsel and advice on a variety of issues specific to the health care industry including anti-kickback, Stark, False Claims Act, HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, Life Safety Code, CLIA, fraud and abuse, survey issues, certification, licensure, professional discipline, collections, contracts and general operating issues. I have also developed significant experience handling reimbursement audits band appeals at both the state and federal levels for all types of providers. Prior to joining Polsinelli, I spent more than six years in trial practice with a concentration in medical malpractice defense and had the honor of defending hospitals, physicians, and other professionals in civil lawsuits seeking multi-million dollar verdicts. Thus, I have the experience to challenge regulators and take contested matters to hearing and beyond, if necessary.
