About Meredith Giles

My name is Meredith and I love animals, traveling, new adventures and anything outdoors. I grew up in the foothills of North Carolina and attended summer camp in the Blue Ridge Mountains, where I gained a passion for any and all things adventurous. I graduated from high school in 2007 and attended Appalachian State Univeristy in Boone, North Carolina. After college I followed my passion for the outdoors to Charleston and spent the early part of my career with Charleston County Parks & Recreation as a Youth Program Aide. I spent my days working summer camps, leading team building activities on the challenge course and coaching archery, among many other things. This position taught me a lot of important skills that have helped me achieve my professional goals as I’ve grown.Eventually I realized I was looking for something more and, by happenstance, fell into the role of a Reservations Agent at Kiawah Island Golf Resort. It was in this position I realized my passion for the hospitality industry and knew I had found my home. I was able to combine my professional skills and people skills with my love for travel. Kiawah offered me a huge opportunity to learn as much as I could about the hospitality industry. I cross trained at the front desk and in housekeeping and graduated from the Leadership Program, which taught me valuable management skills.I was then offered the amazing opportunity of becoming the Reservations Manager for Montage Palmetto Bluff. This change has allowed me to grow my career and branch out my experience to another hotel brand with the coveted Forbes 5-Star distinction.
