About Meredith Luce

Graphic Designer Meredith Luce is a fearless creative with a solid counterpoint of business savvy. At once playful and pragmatic, Meredith’s voracious exploration of artistic methods and media infuses her design work with a distinctive weight and dimension. A graduate of the intensive Algonquin College Graphic Design program (where she now teaches part-time), Meredith crafts meaningful and sophisticated materials that highlight on the unique details that set her clients apart from their competitors. She offers a colourful spectrum of services, from illustration to print layouts and branding. Meredith has been making things her whole life — from writing and illustrating comic books, to whipping up restaurant-worthy meals — but it was her experience as an independent singer-songwriter that crystallized her path to a career in graphic design. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Meredith found herself illustrating posters and album covers for fellow musicians before going pro as a designer in 2009. Over the past fifteen years, Meredith has found her niche as a straight-shooting creative professional who generates fresh ideas and meaningful designs for small and medium-sized business owners. Meredith discovered her love of illustration while studying Graphic Design. Although a passionate maker of art and craft throughout her childhood and teens, Meredith's time at college established her drive to pursue visual art in more traditional mediums. Since graduating, she has continued independent studies with artists in the Ottawa region. Meredith works in a variety of media including printmaking (linocut, monotype, collagraph, and recently dry point etching); watercolour, oil, and acrylic paint; air dry clay; coloured pencil and pen. Meredith's work is heavily influenced by her passion for environmental stewardship. At her home in Kemptville, Ontario, she is surrounded by fields, wetlands, and forests. Here, she observes the daily and seasonal patterns of plants, birds, and wildlife that populate nearby ecosystems. Meredith's objective as an artist is to encourage viewers to build a more personal connection with nature. Although Meredith takes a playful approach to her creative work, she’s all business when it comes down to.well, business. Her experience as a successful independent singer-songwriter taught her the art and science of branding oneself, as well as planning, launching, and growing a successful business — and she is happy to share this knowledge with her clients, as well as to learn from their own successes and struggles.
