Background
About Meredith McGee
I am a Yale MPH student with a strong commitment to improving health outcomes and addressing the unique challenges faced by marginalized communities. I believe in the power of advocacy, education, and evidence-based research to bring about positive transformations in healthcare. Through my dual degree in Biology and History at Lafayette, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of public health issues and the factors that influence individual and community well-being. My four years at Lafayette were marked by hard work, advocacy, and attempts to address health inequalities on Lafayette's campus. As an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, I am deeply passionate about fostering inclusivity and equality within the world, especially in healthcare systems. I strive to create safe spaces and promote culturally competent care for LGBTQ+ individuals. Through my work, I aim to raise awareness, eliminate disparities, and improve access to quality healthcare services for the LGBTQ+ community. At Lafayette, I founded two LGBTQ+ organizations, which promoted inclusion and acceptance on Lafayette's campus. Through this work I brought the AIDS Memorial Quilt to campus, and founded the first-ever gender-inclusive house, Lavender Lane. With these efforts, I was able to create fundamental change on Lafayette's campus, which will have an impact for many years to come. In addition, I am currently working as a grant writer at Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center. Through this, I stay connected to the Lehigh Valley and continue to adress LGBTQ+ advocacy for the community that I love. If you share a passion for public health, LGBTQ+ advocacy, and health equity, I would love to connect with you. Let's collaborate, inspire, and make a meaningful impact together. Feel free to reach out to me via LinkedIn! Let's create a healthier, more inclusive world that we all are happy to live in.
