About Meredith Oneil

I have over twenty years of teaching experience as a special educator. I am currently working as a K-2 special education teacher at Hardy Oak elementary School in San Antonio, TX. I taught at Langston Hughes Academy, for the past five years, working as both a middle school self contained special education teacher, and a Pk-2 self contained special education teacher. I have worked as a special education teacher, professional development facilitator, and instructional coach in New Orleans charter schools for the past fourteen years. Because I speak Spanish, I have also done a lot of interpretation and translation work in this community throughout my tenure in schools here. Prior to moving to New Orleans, I taught in Costa Rica and in NYC public schools and have worked for an alternative certification program as a mentor to new teachers in the NYC system and worked as an online cohort leader for teachers pursuing their Master's Degrees at Pace University. I am finishing my Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership with a focus in Special Education and am also a certified kids' yoga teacher and a certified travel agent.
