I don’t think it has ever been a surprise that I ended up pursuing a career in the hospitality industry. As a child, I was constantly playing “restaurant” or pretending our house was a bed & breakfast where my parents were my “guests”. Service came as a second nature. Growing up in Girl Scouts aided in developing many skills such as service, entrepreneurship, life skills and the importance of relationships. Virginia Tech’s motto, “Ut Prosim (That I May Serve)” has had a profound impact on my life and career path as well.
