I took an unconventional route to design; however, those who know me best would tell you creativity is woven into the fabric of my being. It’s what led me into a 15+ year career as an Advertising Executive in Chicago. Helping solve some of Fortune 500's biggest creative challenges with brands like Target, Gatorade, Oscar Mayer, Aveeno, Coors Light (and many more) brought excitement and creativity. Consistently, I found myself gravitating toward creative “side hustles” that enabled me to be my own creative director. Outlets where nothing is ever the same and invention is the heartbeat of the project. Insert Jewelry design, Photography, Brand design, Product development. Five years ago, I became an accidental entrepreneur by helping friends reimagine their wardrobe, designing the style they wanted to be the best version of themselves. Stylemuse still exists today, it's the exact intersection of my interests - playing dress up and helping women be spectacular. Because I will bet on a confident, spectacular woman every.day.of.the.week. But it wasn't enough.I still had an itch to scratch. I began freelancing with the incredible, Kate Taylor Interiors while in Chicago. Design lit me up - it allows me to invent on a blank canvas, bring new meaning to old things, and make beautiful homes for people to build their lives in. And no project will ever be the same. After returning to Phoenix, AZ in 2016, I knew it was time to turn the table and make these side hustles my main hustle. Thus, Meredith Smyth Design Studio was born.
