About Merelda Fiddler Potter
I am currently the Senior Advisor - Treaty- for the Métis Nation - Saskatchewan. As a former Faculty Lecturer and Executive Residence at JSGS, this is the kind of work I've been training to do. Previously, I was a sessional Lecturer at First Nations University of Canada. In July 2022, I completed my PhD at the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy. Before that, I spent 17 years as a journalist working for CBC before I decided to take a new path. My work experience and skills are varied and diverse as my work history. I love telling stories, creating big campaigns, and having a solid work-life balance. I am married and have two children so I have been working from home much more these days. I love to teach. I have a real passion for working with students in Indigenous studies, Public Policy, and Journalism to find their voice and achieve their education goals. I also love creating stories and other materials for non-profits, small companies, and working with entrepreneurs.
