About Merisa Boyd

Originally from western Massachusetts, Merisa has spent most of her professional career working in and around Boston, and is currently the Digital Media Manager for Rhode Island FC. Merisa began working with the Boston Bruins as a member of the Marketing Game Night Staff team in 2018 and joined the Fan and Youth Engagement Department of the Boston Red Sox in 2019 to further expand her skills and knowledge from an in-game marketing perspective. She utilized this experience to begin working as an In-Game Social Media Producer for the Red Sox during the 2021 MLB season. Here, she helped tell each game’s story through the team’s Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook pages. Merisa earned her first full-time role with the New England Revolution in November 2021 where she worked in the communications department for 2.5 years. She served as the main point of contact for the club’s second team and Academy, telling the pro pathway story through press releases, game notes, match recaps, and through the club’s social media channels. While finishing her Bachelor’s in Communications and Media Studies from Emmanuel College and beginning her Master’s of Public Relations at Emerson College, Merisa was the Director of Communications for the Worcester Blades of the Canadian Women’s Hockey League. Here, she developed her passion of advocating for and growing women’s sports through earned media coverage and social media. Merisa rounds out her experience with leadership positions in customer service at Starbucks as a Shift Manager and at Six Flags New England as a Rides Supervisor. Through these two roles, she has developed teamwork and time management skills while successfully leading multiple teams through each company’s specific goals.
