Why isn't it just as easy to talk about our mind adversities as it is to talk about physical adversities such as arthritis, or a broken arm, or hip replacement, or diabetes? That's the impact of culture. We've built and we live within a culture of shame, fear, bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. Yes. All of these things. These all carry weight and power and we see their impact. People don't reach out for help, or don't even know that there is help for what's happening to them, because they don't want to be on the receiving end of the shame and fear, the bias and stereotypes, and the discrimination. Changing culture takes time. And it takes energy, effort, and action. The Do More Agriculture Foundation was created to cultivate a culture of mental well-being within Canadian farming communities.
