About Merril Yu

Dynamic and experienced senior executive with over 35 years of senior leadership experience; demonstrated success managing full-scope operations, developing a strong cohesive company culture, and building multi-million dollar corporations from the ground up. Merril Yu is a seasoned Filipino hotelier whose global journey began as a management trainee and rose to Executive roles with iconic brands like Four Seasons, MGM, and The Peninsula Group. He has led hotel teams across Asia, the U.S, and Oceania—from an award-winning 10-suite gem in Hong Kong to China’s largest hotel with 1,525 rooms. Deeply rooted in both hospitality and food, Merril has worked alongside legends like Jeremiah Tower, David Yeo, Chef Chele Gonzalez, and John Concepcion. Back home, he helped build SM Hotels as founding Executive VP, led LServ—the country’s largest skilled labor provider, and headed hotel strategy at Megawide. Today, he brings hospitality into industry as Chief Experience Officer of Concepcion Industrial Corporation (CIC). A graduate of Choate, Duke University, he also completed the Advanced Marketing Management Program at AIM. At heart, Merril believes hospitality is not just a profession—it’s a quiet calling to serve with dignity, uplift others, and leave every place better than we found it.
