About Mia Goericke

I recently graduated 1.5 years early from Colorado State University with Cum Laude distinction. My studies primarily focused on clinical psychology, environmental psychology, and our relationship with the natural world through horticulture. I am dedicated to understanding how our physical surroundings and connection to nature influence our emotion, especially during this climate crisis. I am currently preparing for potential assignment in Panama with the Peace Corps to work in youth development. This role aligns with my commitment to clinical psychology and empowering young people by supporting education and leadership skills. I look forward to growing both professionally and personally while making a lasting impact. In addition to my academic pursuits, I’ve been an avid mountain cyclist for the past eight years in Santa Cruz, California. I competed on a high school team and am honored to be a part of the local cycling community. Throughout high school, I volunteered for trail maintenance and started a fundraiser for bike lane preservation. My experience extends to the cycling industry, where I have developed retail and mechanic skills, enhancing my understanding of the sport and its community impact.
