About Mibi Bradshaw

Aloha! My name is Mibi Bradshaw and I was born and raised in Laie, Hawaii, and loved every moment of island life. I am currently a Social Work major at Utah Valley University and working as an Administrative Assistant at Deseret industries. I married my husband, Lee, in 2004. Then in 2006, he was in a tragic car accident that resulted in a traumatic brain injury and subsequent mental disabilites. I have been his primary caregiver and advocate since that accident. I'm determined to change the way that the severely mentally ill adults in this country are treated. I want to enact change so that the family members of the severely mentally ill can get financial, medical, and emotional support. I also want to make Medicaid Mental Health Services available to anyone who needs it. I possess a unique perspective and empathy for those individuals who do struggle with mental illness and their caregivers. My experience in navigating mental health treatment services allows me to help those also going through similar situations. I have also owned and operated a very successful retail jewelry business for 20 years. The skills I learned while running my business include conflict resolution, customer service, and training of employees in sales and customer service.
