About Mic Mann

I am a storyteller, futurist, entrepreneur and speaker on how exponential technologies #futureproofAfrica. The future will be abundant, as the exponential technologies improve and their price gradually drops. This will democratise numerous industries and improve lives. After completing my honours at AFDA, I joined as co-owner of our family business, Mann Made. This Sandton-based, award-winning experiential brand agency has worked with top Fortune 500 companies. I have 19 years of experience in the media, marketing and eventing industry. After completing the Singularity University Executive Programme in Silicon Valley, in 2016 I established the non-profit SingularityU South Africa Chapters so that South Africans can create employment, drive education and stimulate the economy. In 2017, Mann Made brought the SingularityU South Africa Summit to South Africa. In 2018, after the second annual SingularityU South Africa Summit, Mann Made established the fifth Singularity University country partnership and the first in Africa. I am co-CEO of SingularityU South Africa. This long-term investment aims to build an empowered network of changemakers, who are able to innovate and implement solutions that will solve some of the continent’s – and the world’s – greatest challenges. SingularityU South Africa runs custom education, innovation and impact programmes that help businesses and individuals leverage rapidly accelerating technologies to unlock solutions that can positively impact millions of lives. We want to #futureproofAfrica into the Fourth Industrial Revolution. I present on exponential technologies to the public the private sector, as well as future leaders on the future of work and the changing roles of professionals. We help multinational global companies leapfrog their businesses from 0 to 1. My passions are entrepreneurship and break-through technologies and I am also involved in the local start-up and maker communities.
