Background

About Micaela Carlini

I am a fourth year undergraduate Behaviour, Cognition and Neuroscience student who is extremely passionate, driven, and perseverant. I am eager to combine my passion for teaching, mentoring, and helping others to find healing body, mind, and soul to pursue a career in clinical psychology. Using my passion for dance and for being a light unto others, my sister and I founded a non-profit organization, Dance to Inspire, where our goal is to provide a 6-week after school dance program to the less fortunate kids in our city. With this, our mission is to bring joy to them but more importantly, to share our own stories with them and to provide a safe talking space where they feel safe, loved, and secure. I am passionate about continuing to bring faith, hope, and love to all those in need. I am a self-motivated and hardworking individual who loves to get involved and volunteer in both on-campus and off-campus organizations. I was honoured to be the Co-President for the Behaviour, Cognition, and Neuroscience Students' Association (BCNSA) during the 2022-2023 year, the current VP of Student Affairs on BCNSA, Career Peer Advisor at the University of Windsor, and to have been a part of the Lancer’s Competitive Dance Company throughout my undergrad. I am also blessed to have had many opportunities to work and volunteer with individuals with exceptionalities as both a dance instructor and a respite worker within our community. I was honoured to receive the Hitchcock Family Foundation Scholarship, the Kin Club Bursary, the University of Windsor President’s Entrance Scholarship, Outstanding Female Student award, Velocity Dance MVA Scholarship, and to have been a candidate for the Terry Fox Humanitarian Award.
