About Micaela Harley

I’m a health systems leader with a track record of turning complexity into clarity, and strategy into impact. With over seven years of leadership experience across hospital, community, and research settings, I’ve led transformative initiatives that improve patient outcomes, drive workforce resilience, and align care with what matters most to the people who use and deliver it. As a former Vice President at Frayme (hosted by The Royal), I directed pan-Canadian strategies to embed lived expertise into mental health system transformation, while scaling partnerships across government, philanthropy, and care teams, and helping to shift policy and implementation practices nationwide. I’ve coached healthcare teams in trauma-informed, equity-driven approaches, launched national engagement infrastructures, and contributed to published research in BMJ Open and the Canadian Journal of Neurological Sciences. In private practice, I support clients, especially frontline workers, in navigating complex trauma, using neuroscience-informed, evidence-based modalities like EMDR and Polyvagal Theory. This dual lens allows me to bridge leadership with lived clinical realities. I hold a Master of Clinical Science in Health Leadership from Western University and a BSW with minors in Neuroscience, Mental Health, and Psychology from Carleton University. I’ve completed executive coaching through the Canadian College of Health Leaders, and currently serve on advisory boards supporting integrated health systems. I lead with the belief that today’s healthcare must be people-centered, data-informed, and rooted in cultural and clinical humility. I’m driven to build systems that not only work, but heal.
