Background

About Micah McGee

I am an Enrollment Counselor at Union University with a B.S.B.A. in Economics and a minor in Communication Studies. I’m driven by a commitment to help people make informed, meaningful decisions—whether in their educational journey, workplace environment, or broader community. My academic and professional experiences reflect a blend of analytical thinking, human-centered research, and practical leadership. I have investigated how signaling theory and brand authenticity shape perceptions on digital platforms, and I’ve explored the ways managerial caring behaviors influence support, organizational commitment, and organizational capabilities. These projects strengthened my interest in the intersection of communication, behavior, and strategy.Beyond research, I’ve engaged directly with workforce and economic development, including leading and analyzing a Wage & Benefits Survey for the Greater Jackson Chamber of Commerce. I also participated in the American Enterprise Institute’s Workforce Development Seminar in Washington, D.C, expanding my understanding of policy, labor markets, and community impact.Another important part of my work has been coaching high school debate. An opportunity that allows me to mentor students, sharpen their critical thinking and communication skills, and support the development of future leaders.Across all roles, I enjoy helping people clarify their goals, understand their options, and access the tools they need to grow. I’m motivated by work that connects data, insight, and meaningful human impact.
