About Micah Richards

I have applied my policy studies background to take strategic actions within the US and abroad: managing the budget and financial memorandums for the City of Stone Mountain, Georgia, being involved with the planning and execution of the City’s audit, evaluating the City’s external auditor to verify that the work was in compliance with the government’s code and auditing standards, collaborating with the City’s police by implementing an effective research experiment to improve the department’s performance using geofencing technology, developing formal reports using data analytics to consult the DeKalb County, Georgia Board of Commissioners for corrective actions, creating a targeted campaign to raise $2.1 million and overseeing the financial reports for the House Minority Caucus at the Georgia State Capitol, lobbying legislation in the Georgia General Assembly, participating in the initiatives with the Civil Lawyers Against World Sex Slavery (CLAWS) Law Firm that resulted in anti-sex trafficking legislature, and mission work in South African impoverished stricken areas. These experiences enhanced my leadership, financial literacy, analytical assessment, critical thinking, communication, curiosity, problem solving, time management, project management, and public speaking skills. These skills enabled me to be a civil servant by creating interpersonal relationships to ensure the needs of the community are met and serve as the Policy Chair for Georgia Students for Public Administration leadership organization.
