About Micah Shotel

I am a design leader. Great experience design is more than just software. Great experience design could be how someone experiences a physical space, the encouraged/nurtured love someone has for a product/brand, the satisfying click of a hardware button or breath of an LED. It could be anything that is experienced. I have a passion for all technology and UX design that appears to be contagious among my teammates. I am a system builder. I think in terms of building blocks that can be put together to create products. Solid frameworks and systems are the starting point/base material that great design is built on. Systems are meant to be challenged, updated and built upon. I have created and used systems/frameworks for everything from small feature areas to the common controls or architecture of whole mobile and enterprise platforms, tablets, wearables, automotive, and large screen experiences. I believe great people build great product. My goal is to hire passionate people, help them create products they believe in, and create a path for them to learn and grow. I strongly believe that supporting those around me and helping them achieve their goals will help the greater mission of the team and company. Creative spaces inspire creative people to create. I have been fortunate to be involved in building two major design studios. I have worked to create environments that foster teamwork, inspires individuals, while still having outlets for heads down productivity. I have also driven brands to deliver quality experience in the physical world through sales showrooms, test-drive centers, and retail locations. I want to help amazing people do extraordinary things. I want to facilitate a change in the way people think about their world. I want to help them fall in love with brands that shape their future. I want to be challenged to do things I haven't done before and learn from people smarter than me.
