About Michael Adair

Since I watched the Pixar movie Cars when I was two years old, I have always had an enthusiast's passion for the automotive performance industry. My passion has led me to learn more about performance modifications and what is required to make an excellent race car. In 2023, I took reigns to my endeavors by learning the fundamental parts needed to make a car and working as an auto body mechanic intern at Seidners Collision Center. Here, I learned how to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems on various automotive brands and how to repair them. This year, I mastered MIG and TIG welding through 300 hours of practice on different classic hot rod chassis at the Engineering firm Total Cost Involved. Additionally, I expanded my skills by using a manual mill and lathe to create nuts and 4-link suspensions. I also operated CNC mills to manufacture precision spindles, meeting tight tolerances of ±0.005 inches. This hands-on experience has given me valuable insights into the feasibility of CAD-designed parts, bridging the gap between engineering design and practical application. In the future, I want to continue learning various areas of the automotive industry and specialize in one aspect. My long-term goal would be to be in a project engineering role in manufacturing automotive performance parts.
