About Michael Alexander Strauss

Currently a teacher at The Conservatory & my own studio. Previously a teacher at multiple Universities and many elementary, middle, and high schools. I am responsible for launching group violin lessons at public and private schools and writing grant proposals that funded schools with tens of thousands of dollars for music education. I feel honored to have received an outstanding education from some of the most famous and influential teachers in the music world including Eugene Lehner (Viola), George Neikrug (Cello), Benjamin Zander (Conducting), Karen Tuttle (Viola), and Marjorie Barstow (Alexander Technique). I’ve performed professionally in the Louisville Symphony, the Opera Company of Boston, the Boston Philharmonic, the Boston Pops, and multiple other symphonies around the world. My goal is to pass on my knowledge to future generations of musicians through books, private practice, and community engagement.
