Michael Alfonso currently serves as the Deputy Special Agent in Charge (DSAC) of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York Field Office. Mr. Alfonso has the honor to lead approximately 250 of the finest law enforcement professionals in the world from 22 federal, state, and city agencies. This includes task forces at John F. Kennedy Airport, LaGuardia Airport, and New York City that investigative financial crimes, narcotics trafficking, and intellectual property rights violations. In addition, in Long Island that investigate human trafficking, financial crimes, child exploitation, narcotics, and violent gangs. Previously, Mr. Alfonso served as the DSAC of the HSI New York El Dorado Financial Crimes Task Force (EDTF) comprised of over 175 members from more than 30 federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies in New York and New Jersey – including special agents, state and local police investigators, intelligence analysts and federal prosecutors. The EDTF portfolio includes three divisions each focusing on different aspects of criminal activity and financial crimes to include narcotics related money laundering, financial fraud, and cyber related fraud/crime.
