Results oriented executive with a solid track record of exceeding financial and operational targets while providing Management in environmental stewardship, business strategy, operations, supply chain and leadership. Mike Atwater currently leads the Supply Chain Sustainability program at Entergy, a gulf south Electric Utility that serves over 2.5 million customers across Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi. With over 30 years of experience in the Electric Utility Industry, Mike values dedication, service, and excellence in all aspects of ESG in supply chain. Mike brings unique perspectives gained from his utility and disaster recovery experience, empowering teams to unleash their untapped potential. Mike earned his MBA from A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University and has a completed the Corporate Sustainability Certification program at NYU Stern School of Business. In 2021, and 2023 Entergy was recognized as the Utility of the Year among 93 utility peer utility members across North America by the Electric Utility Industry Sustainable Supply Chain Alliance due to Mike’s leadership and performance in the Alliance. In his spare time, Mike is passionate about his community. Honors include being recognized as project leader of the year after implementing a local public art project sponsored by the Young Leadership Council, “A Streetcar Named Inspire.” This project supported over 100 artists who were impacted by Katrina and brought life and vibrance back into the New Orleans area and artist community. Mike was recognized by New Orleans Medical Mission Services as a volunteer of the year for his effort running international eye glass clinics in impoverished countries. Mike is a dog lover and has a Labrador-Retriever, Beignet, who is a rescue dog from the Louisiana Society for the prevention of Cruelty to Animals (LA-SPCA), which Mike is also a big supporter and served as a project leader for another public art project benefitting the non-profit organization. Mike has supported recovery efforts for Hurricane IDA securing donations of six semi-truckloads of supplies for Entergy’s communities and personally delivering mobile device battery/chargers to customer support centers across the areas impacted by the hurricane.
