About Michael Bachman

Michael's background includes a unique blend of academic, practical, and technical experience. He leads with vision and specializes in change and communication. He is known to set bold transformational goals that sometimes border on impossible, yet he has a solid track record of turning ideas into action and achieving solid results. His staff and colleagues discover quickly that working together will be an unconventional, challenging, but rewarding adventure. A number of successful initiatives and projects over the years have resulted in national or regional recognition. He has worked at Towson University since 1987 and served as Director of Information Technology and Client Services. In addition to his full-time work, his extreme passion is teaching part-time in the Computer and Information Sciences department where he can pass the torch to the next wave of professionals. Prior to moving into the IT field in 1996, he worked at several colleges and universities in Pennsylvania and Maryland developing, operating and marketing professional development and training programs for corporate and government clients. Michael graduated from the University of Vermont and completed his master's degree at Louisiana State University with a background in experimental and physiological psychology. He holds a commercial pilot rating, flies during his free time, and also enjoys SCUBA diving, photography, working out, shooting sports, and just about anything beach-related. Specialties: Communications (writing, speaking); influencing and promoting ideas; developing a vision and laying out a roadmap; designing business and operations processes and procedures as part of the change process; passionate about quality assurance and identifying ways to maximize client satisfaction. And yes, true geek stuff like programming, databases, and most things tech.
