About Michael Barcoe

An experienced leader, manager and aviation professional. Education includes B Eng (Mech), BSc Aviation and Management, MBA (Aviation), ATPL(A) and Flight Instructor. I currently work for Aer Lingus as a First Officer on the A320/321 fleet flying on the European and North American route network. My previous experience includes Squadron Commander in the Irish Air Corps (Force) of an operational flying Squadron and lead project manager introducing a new aircraft type into service. I have also held staff appointments in Defence Forces Headquarters Strategic Planning Branch and as the Irish Air Corps Press Officer. I currently act as the Director (operations) of Karman Aviation, an aviation consultancy company specialising in services to aircraft leasing companies. Over 15 years in military aviation, extensive experience in education and training across a variety of disciplines. Proven track record of building high performance communication environments and ultimately, high performance teams. Wide variety of experience implementing processes for identifying and capturing organisational learning and embedding such learning to effect long term organisational change. Extensive experience in the oversight and compliance monitoring of complex aviation operations.
