Michael co-founded R-Hauz in 2017 and leads the construction and design teams. He has more than 30 years of experience in all aspects of construction and costing on projects of various sizes and stages of development and has been directly involved with medium and high-density residential development in the GTA. Michael has spent his career as a professional cost consultant and chartered quantity surveyor and intrinsically understands the economics of residential development. Simply put, the time and risk required to undertake residential development together with the byzantine entitlement process make the creation of low-rise projects uneconomic. That realization prompted the creation of R-Hauz, which designs and builds housing solutions for property owners in the form of mid-rise mass timber residential buildings and prefabricated laneway suites. R-Hauz has recently completed the pilot R-Town, the first all-wood, six-storey mass timber building in Ontario, located in Leslieville, Toronto.
