About Michael Baron

Michael Baron is Co-President and Portfolio Manager at Baron Capital, where he has worked closely with the leadership team for over 20 years. He has played a central role in reinforcing the firm’s singular focus on delivering growth-oriented investment solutions through deep, fundamental primary research. His work reflects Baron Capital’s commitment to investing for the long term in competitively advantaged growth businesses on behalf of clients, to help grow and preserve their wealth across generations. Michael joined Baron Capital in 2004 as a research analyst. He has been a key member in abiding by the firm’s unique and fundamental approach to investment management that has delivered leading long-term results across various market environments and cycles. His work has helped advance the firm’s mission to change clients’ lives by having a transformative impact on our investors, employees, and communities. In 2018, Michael was appointed as a portfolio manager of the Baron Partners Fund, followed by the Baron WealthBuilder Fund in 2020, and the Baron Capital US All Cap Focused Growth Strategy in 2023. In 2024, he was named Co-President of Baron Capital. Michael holds a B.A. in Economics from Duke University (2003) and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (2010). He grew up in New York City where he continues to live with his wife and children.
