About Michael Barrett

I am an AV technician, which everyone knows actually means I am a Jack-of-All-Trades; I have seen and done nearly everything in the live event production industry. I am a self-identified electronics nerd, whose favorite past times include reading equipment user manuals, electronics maintenance, sales negotiations, and learning new skills. With a decade of experience in the Technology field, ranging from hospitality management to loghting technician roles, I aspire to apply these principles to become a member of the I.A.T.S.E. Local #42, which I have worked with for about 20 years. I am passionate about music and concert production and all things about it, from vintage musical equipment to the hand-painted scenic set pieces, from digital audio consoles to the newest lighting instruments and everything in between! Currently, I am enjoying a second-act career in the mental health and substance abuse area of the social services field. I find this both challenging and rewarding, and have discovered great potential in utilizing my lived experiences to serve a marginalized part of our society!
