About Michael Baumann

Within the 19 years of my professional career I worked in a lot of different roles in a lot of different IT projects within GfK. Being a "StarTrack" member from the first hour I always strived to make this system and also its successor System "StarTrack 2.0" to be one of the most scalable and flexible platforms within the reporting landscape. Teamwork is for me the key to successful delivery of complex IT projects. During the more than 8 years of leadership experience I lead different teams from small sized (5 developers) to mid sized (16 developers), likewise disciplinary responsible or functionally responsible. I have gained experiences in leading a team with talents from many different nationalities from all over the globe (e.g. from Australia, Kuala Lumpur, China, Egypt, Morocco, India). While I am also familiar with the V-model development approach I prefer to use agile methodologies since I am convinced that putting trust in people and at the same time handing over responsibility and developing accountability is returning the best value to the business. Therefore I support teams in striving for high quality while at the same time keeping an eye to pragmatism.
