About Michael Beard

I work with my son, John M. Beard. I work as our project director, editor, researcher, and writer. John is our graphic designer. His skills as a designer, photographer, and artist enables us to offer superior products to our clients. Our goal is to help our clients - organizations and businesses which are, in one way or another involved in heritage tourism - tell their stories to as many people as possible. Our passion is to create accurate, quality products with which to do that. If you have an historic property, historic and/or cultural district, museum, battlefield, natural resource, or just an idea with a lot of potential; SunSyne Graphics is in business for you. Whether you have a million visitors a year or are just wondering if anyone cares, we are here to help you. Your tourism office tells you that heritage tourism is all about putting "heads in beds," selling tickets, souvenirs, lunches, expanding the tax base. Well they're right. up to a point. But you know there are ultimately larger, more important issues at stake. In the long run, without a story, a battlefield is just a field; an historic downtown, just a collection of old buildings. If you don't tell your stories effectively, you may attract visitors. Once. You can be sure they won't come back. More seriously, if we as a society don't tell our stories, the struggles and achievements of our civilization - and the lessons we can learn from them - will dry up and blow away with the blood and sweat of our ancestors. If you have a story to tell, however large or small it may be, we are here to help you tell it. And we have the knowledge, skill, and experience to help tell it well.
