About Michael Beitzel

Mike Beitzel proved himself to be one of the top college basketball coaches in the country. Mike was an assistant basketball coach at Wooster College, the University of Cincinnati, and The Ohio State University. He was a head basketball coach for 28 years at Northern Kentucky University and Hanover College. Several of his teams won conference championships and achieved top 10 national rankings. He coached several All American players including the NABC National Player of the year. Many of his former players are now coaching at every level of basketball play including the NBA. Coach Beitzel has received several honors including the the NABC Distinguished Service Award, the Sagamore of the Wabash Award, and the Kentucky Colonel. He is currently retired living in S. Texas. During retirement Coach Beitzel has become a certified volleyball and basketball official, Camp Player Analyst at Blue Chip Basketball Camp in Gerogetown, Ky, a member of the stat crew for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA D League. He participates in the Texas state senior games where his team's have won three State basketball championships.
