About Michael Bindseil

VISION: Together, we shape a sustainable and livable world. I am proud of being in a company with such a vision. And no doubt we need to make the world more sustainable to keep the climate change below the 1,5 degrees as agreed in Paris I COWI we try every day to drive the projects towards less carbon footprint including respect for biodiversity. Since I started the management part of my career, I have strived to develop profitable growth and formulate strategies that are attractive to customers as well as to employees. I have managed to develop successful strategies and translate them into action plans which also employees feel ownership of, through their involvement in the strategy process. Customer centricity is a key topic in all strategy development and embedded in all what we do in a Professional Service firm. Furthermore, sustainability and digitalization is on top of the agenda when developing today's business - and finally this needs to be accomplished while we create an inclusive and diverse workplace. As Project Manager I have led some of Denmark's largest civil works projects (Copenhagen Metro and Cityringen Metro in Copenhagen). I have also led projects internationally – Dubai Drydocks, Citytunnel in Malmö and Doha Metro in Qatar. I have worked with in all areas of Project Management from small project up to projects involving more than 150 staff. As a person I am open, honest and have an inclusive leadership style as I value different perspectives in order to be able to find the best solution and come to the best decision. I have experience with working at different Boards. Today I am Chairman of the Board for two companies: Trebo APS and Karamel Kompagniet A/S From 2010 to 2014 I was appointed by the COWI Foundation (The owner of COWI) to be member of the COWI Group A/S Board. The last two years I was deputy Chairman. Furthermore, I am today member of several boards internally in COWI. Have also been a board member in COWI's former African Companies.
