About Michael Bishop

I have 14 years of experience in the business and religious sectors. I identify myself as an introvert with extrovert tendencies. I enjoy helping people and providing a service, which is why ministry is so fulfilling to me. I have managed small teams of up to 16 employees and headed up departments of 20 or more youth and ministers. I have also assisted in the leadership of a group of over 70. I feel comfortable in leadership and have led projects varying from trip and event planning to reorganizing and pricing a retail store environment. I like to know the parameters for a task that needs to be done and be given the leeway to work within those parameters to accomplish the task. I enjoy problem-solving and using critical thinking, as well as working with my hands. I believe my faith and my work in the ministry have added invaluably to who I am and how I work. The experience I have received allows me to communicate effectively with many different kinds of people from all walks of life and find some common ground. It has also instilled in me values, work ethic, leadership skills, and experiences that I bring into the way I conduct business. I am passionate about ministry and people. One of the best lessons I learned I have kept with me since my college days, and I am attempting to apply it to all areas of my life. The lesson came from an International Business Course I took, and it is simply:"Think globally. Act locally." Powerful words when applied. My visions and mindset should be big picture, but my actions should be local to me. If I am doing what I need to do where I am, then the big picture will come together.
