About Michael Bocklandt

I grew up in a small, picturesque town in the eastern part of Belgium, a world far removed from the vast oilfields that would later become a significant part of my journey. Raised by my mother, who embodied resilience and unwavering determination, I learned early on the value of hard work, adaptability, and perseverance. After completing high school, I pursued my passion for problem-solving and innovation by studying Industrial Engineering Sciences. This field allowed me to develop a strong foundation in analytical thinking and technical expertise. After completing my studies, I began my professional journey in Northern Luxembourg, joining a company specializing in intralogistics equipment and aircraft maintenance tools. While gaining hands-on experience, I pursued a Master degree in Management, later transitioning into product management to bridge technical innovation with market needs. It was during this period that a chance encounter over a beer led me to an entirely new chapter in my career. A conversation that started casually would become the bridge to the oil and gas industry - an unexpected yet thrilling opportunity that forever changed the course of my professional life. After a few years as a mechanical engineer for a company specializing in oil and gas coring services and drilling equipment, I temporarily stepped away from the industry. However, the call to innovate in the oil and gas sector soon brought me back. Partnering with like-minded individuals, I co-founded Neo Oiltools - a bold leap into entrepreneurship fueled by a shared vision to drive innovation. One of our key accomplishments is the development of Neotork, a cutting-edge solution designed to address critical needs in the oil and gas industry, as well as in the geothermal world. Neotork has become a game-changer in the oil and gas and geothermal industries, revolutionizing the way wells are drilled around the world. This innovative solution has been instrumental in drilling thousands of wells and millions of feet more efficiently, enhancing overall drilling performance while reducing operational costs. Bringing Neo Oiltools to life and successfully launching Neotork was more than just a professional milestone; it was a testament to the power of collaboration, perseverance, and a relentless drive to challenge the status quo. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring the East Belgian hills on my mountain bike, pushing my limits and embracing the outdoors. That’s a little about me, I’d love to learn more about you!
