About Michael Boutilier

Michael is a communications professional who resides in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. He has been employed as the Communications & Stakeholder Relations Coordinator with the City of Swift Current since November, 2013. Michael moved to Swift Current in 2012 from the Ottawa area, where he worked as a Business Information & Content Developer with Industry Canada. Gaining his education first at Nipissing University in North Bay, and then his two-year Professional Writing diploma at Algonquin College, Michael has experience in the non-profit sector, working for the Public Interest Advocacy Centre and the Canadian Resource Centre for Victims of Crime. A writer at heart, Michael has an undying love of language and storytelling. He is passionate about his work projects and is committed to daily growth and learning. He recently completed the Dale Carnegie Leadership course, acquiring essential skills in public speaking and human relations. Michael is currently a Board Member of the Swift Current Branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association, and a member of the Swift Current Safe Places – Youth Certified Committee. He served on the board of the Swift Current United Way from 2015 – 2017.
