Instead of an uninteresting profile summary, I propose something a little different. Here's 5 Fun Facts About Me-MY BIGGEST INFLUENCE: Throughout school I was always the class clown. My grades weren't terrible but they certainly weren't noteworthy. I'm sure my parents were worried to death about how I was going to make it in the real world. I thank my grandfather, a highly esteemed man, who always put me in the spotlight. He was my constant in life, the one I looked up to. I think he had more influence on me and where I've arrived thus far in life-I LOVE MUSIC: I play 8 instruments, but my favorites are guitar and piano. I enjoy performing professionally at numerous venues around Fort Worth-BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENTS: This is a tough one because there are two things that come to mind. The first being my college degree. I worked full time with a wife and 2 kids at home while attending school full time and attending clinicals full time. Second, completion of my MSN with University of Texas at Arlington to practice as an Adult Gerontological Acute Care nurse practitioner. It was a bit of a journey having 5 kids, working full time, and as the Vice President of the national nursing organization, The American Association for Men in Nursing, but well worth the effort! Recently took 4th place in United States Karate Alliance World Championships in Adult Intermediate Men’s Kata! FAVORITE SPORTS TEAM: I love football. My favorite football teams are the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers-LASTLY- It's my deepest desire to do something in this life that makes a lasting difference. Everyday, whether I feel like it or not, I am constantly stretching, growing, trying to get to that next level. I've memorized many quotes, but one that really inspires me everyday goes like this,"My worst fear would be, at the end of my life, coming face to face with the man I COULD have become." Seeing and working around tragedy has caused me to reflect on the opportunity each new day brings with it.*Thanks for reading. My RN/NP background of 15 years include ER, Cardiovascular ICU, Neuro ICU, Acute Care, Trauma. Other skills include Leadership, Team-Building, Leadership Development, and Public Speaking, Spanish-moderate fluency.
