About Michael Bray

Currently, I am a senior software engineer and primary AWS programmer for an asynchronous transactional system used by my company’s underwriting business community to assess Catastrophic risk for insureds. I design, code, and support ongoing code enhancements to the system. I recently collaborated closely with a trusted third-party vendor to develop an AWS serverless framework to access their existing risk modeling analytics SaaS system via REST APIs. I designed and coded AWS solutions through which our internal systems seamlessly interacted with their APIs via JSON and Node.js scripting in our AWS Lambdas. In my current position of seven years and with my previous employer of ten years, I have also performed business analysis responsibilities, collaborating daily with internal and external business partners. Gathering and creating business requirements and implementing regular production code releases based on those requirements is a large part of my role. I am a team leader of a group of engineers that supports and maintains our production applications, which include REST APIs hosted in AWS, and web portals. These applications are built on serverless AWS services (ex, Lambda, Step Functions, Aurora RDS) and are deployed to AWS via pipelines utilizing Terraform, Jenkins, and Urban Code Deploy.
