Michael Briggs is the founder, President & CEO of CarsArrive Network, Inc. a subsidiary of Kar Auction Services (KAR) and ADESA Auto Auctions. Also, Senior Vice President of Transportation & Logistics - North America at OPENLANE and is responsible for all of its transportation functions at OPENLANE a subsidiary of Kar Auction Services (NYSE: KAR) and ADESA Auto Auctions. CarsArrive Network, is the single leading online automotive transportation and logistics company in the used car automotive industry. CarsArrive will deliver and manage, through its proprietary systems, over 2M used cars a year in the United States and Canada. Michael founded the company in and went live in 2001. In 2007, as a strategic acquisition, CarsArrive was acquired by OPENLANE, Inc, leading online auction company in North America for automotive dealers to buy and sell wholesale vehicles. CarsArrive's integrated logistic technology created the final piece to the end to end solution for OPENLANE's buyers and sellers. In 2010, OPENLANE and its subsidiaries were acquired by KAR (NYSE: KAR), world's largest automotive auction chain. Prior to CarsArrive, Michael owned and operated MRB of Virginia, a car haul transport company which he founded in 1990. In Michael came off the road and became Director of Transportation for Pricedrive, an online automotive exchange startup funded by Landmark Communications. In 1989, Michael had a humble beginning selling cars at Prestige Imports, a small independent dealership in northern Virginia. Michael has enjoyed working directly in the automotive industry over the past 25 years. The majority concentrated in the car haul and automotive supply chain technology space. Michael attributes his business acumen, foundation and entrepreneurial success to his mentor, business partner, and investor — world class businessman Richard L. Sharp, founder, President, CEO, Chairman - Carmax, Circuit City, Crocs Shoes, Flextronics, VTen Capital Partners.
