About Michael Buck

With over 15 years of experience in clinical informatics, I am passionate about transforming healthcare data into actionable insights and solutions that improve patient outcomes, quality of care, and operational efficiency. As the Senior Vice President of Clinical Informatics at Health Catalyst, I lead multiple product and service line teams that deliver cutting-edge data analyst/engineer tooling and processes, a clinician-friendly ruleset GUI builder, dashboard reporting, and self-service analytics. I also established the first cross-organizational Solutions Architect team that addresses product, service, and account management gaps for existing and potential customers. I am motivated by the mission and vision of Health Catalyst, and I strive to bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, as well as foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. In my previous role as the Vice President/Senior Director of Clinical Informatics at Health Catalyst, I managed three software development and data architect teams responsible for building a next-generation clinical knowledge infrastructure based on FHIR standards. I successfully diversified and expanded product integration into multiple sales verticals, such as clinical analytics, care management, chart review, clinical research, life sciences, and pharmaceutical trial exploration, resulting in millions in new sales/expansion opportunities. I also defined product development strategy and roadmaps for multiple product lines, and leveraged my skills in Healthcare Analytics, Electronic Health Records (EHR), and Clinical Decision Support to deliver high-quality and user-friendly products and services.
